My daughter has always liked CBeebies, anything from Waybuloos to In the Night Garden …. but then along came Abney and Teal. I generally only pop on a few selected programmes through catch up TV or record them. When I first saw Abney and Teal advertised on CBeebies I thought it looked like such a nice little programme and that it might be something new for her to watch, but I never imagined that it would capture her attention quite like it does.
Initially what attracted me to the CBeebies programme were the characters, they have a bit of ‘vintage’ look about them which I really like.
Abney and Teal and their friends, Neep, the Poc-Pocs and Bop live on an island in the middle of a lake in a city park, with Toby-Dog providing music from across the water in the park.
Abney and Teal Adventure
Every episode features some kind of adventure or problem that needs to be solved and generally Bop helps them out of any muddles they get in to, in between his cups of tea.
This seems to feature quite a bit in the CBeebies programme and I’m hoping this will encourage Beth to give it another go as so far I’m having no luck convincing her that porridge is nice!!
Each episode is only about 11 minutes long, which is a great length as it means they’re not sat in front of the TV for too long.
Abney and Teal Toys & Books
I can see how the characters Abney, Teal, Neap and the Poc-Pocs could easily be turned in to cute toys for boys and girls, so I was very excited when I heard from the Abney & Teal Club that they are looking to release Abney and Teal Toys this year – pre-order yours today!
What’s your favourite CBeebies or children’s TV programme and is it the same as your childs favourite?
