I’m sure like many other people, we have 1000’s of pictures of our daughter – we always have an iPhone or camera with us so we’re always taking pictures. However, we very rarely print any out – so the way we share our pictures is usually through Facebook.
I have my Facebook set up so my daughters pictures aren’t public, but even so there are members of my family that don’t have a Facebook account – so I either have to wait until I see them or send a separate email attaching the pictures I want to share with them …. which I rarely remember to do!
Sharing your pictures and videos:
When I heard about 23Snaps I thought it would be perfect to share my pictures and videos with Beth’s Facebook frightened grandparents and my family who live abroad. Unlike Facebook you don’t have to have the 23Snaps app to view the pictures and if you do know people who like apps they can download it when you invite them to join.
When a family or friend receives their 23Snaps invitation they can decide how often they want to receive email notifications of new pictures and videos so all you have to do is add your pictures and videos to 23Snaps and your friends and family can browse them when it’s convenient without sending large files to fill up their inbox.
Add a picture or video:
When you add a picture of video you can add your own description and choose the date it was taken – either today, the date linked to the picture or pick a date. You can also add the location of the picture and decide if you would also like to share it on Facebook (the default is set to “no”).
Before you add a picture you can also use pre-set filters e.g. black and white, retro, etc. crop the picture or add a vignette or frame to it before adding it to your timeline.
When you add a video you can select which snippet of video to add and the 23Snaps automatically trims it before you add your description, date, location and whether to add it to Facebook at the same time.
Add your partner:
Beth’s dad is another Facebook frightened person, but he does have an iPhone, so I loved the feature of adding your partner to the app so that they can add pictures to the timeline as well as you from their own app.
Just like Facebook you can add a description to each picture or video that you add and friends and family can also comment on your photo, “love it” as well as save the picture.
There is also the option to share on Facebook at the same time as you add your picture to 23Snaps so if there are pictures you’d like all your Facebook friends to see as well you don’t have to add it in two separate places.
More than 1 child:
You can “manage your children” through 23Snaps so each child has their own timeline of pictures, with their own personalised timeline.
As you add your pictures or videos to the 23Snaps you create a timeline of your child growing up and as you scroll through it tells you how old your child was in the particular picture – perfect for the first steps, first school picture, etc. There are two view options for your child’s timeline depending on your preference.
You can also add measurements to the app as your child grows as well as status updates to let everyone know what they’re up to.
If someone accepts your invitation to join your 23Snaps private network or comments / “loves” your picture you can set the app to receive push notifications so you never miss what your family and friends have to say about your pictures.
Where to download 23Snaps:
You can download your 23Snaps app from 23Snaps … keep your eyes peeled for the full iPad version of the app which is coming in the next week or two as currently you can only use the iPad app to view pictures on an iPad.
