It arrived while Beth was at school, but I promised I would wait for her so I patiently waited for pick up time to arrive so we could get unpacking and constructing.
The Cottage arrived flat pack and was very well protected, so we started to unwrap and organise all the pieces so we could get started, I was expecting this to take a while as I didn’t think putting the cottage together would be a simple task!
I was SO wrong, this could not be simpler to put together – the whole house slots together and only needs 4 screws in total to secure the top two attic windows! It was so simple the Beth watched me start and quickly spotted how she could help. The little bushes secure the floors and walls together so they not only look cute, they secure the whole house together.
Once the attic windows were added we were ready … ready to play! It was a lot quicker than I had imagined.
The first thing that I noticed about the doll’s house were the little details, from the cute little curtains on elasticated ‘poles’, the little hangers in the wardrobe, flowers in the vases and of course the bananas – not sure what I love the most the bananas or the little heart shutters on the outside!
But the best test was whether Beth enjoyed playing with the Butterbee Cottage and she did, we already have a selection of Sylvanian Family animals so Beth selected the Meerkat’s to move in and it is no longer called a doll’s house it is a Meerkat House!
We loved this Dolls (Meerkat!) House and Beth literally spends hours playing with it and I think the success is down to the lovely colours and the details that keep her interested and helps with the role play.
