We have previously reviewed the lovely bundles from Taylor’d Bundles and were utterly delighted to have the opportunity to review another of their bundles … but this time we got to review something just for Mum’s. If you are looking for something as a lovely treat for an expectant mum or a Mother’s Day gift that it unique, exquisitely crafted and one that imparts love and thoughtfulness in choice, then read on.
Being a Mum of three children under the age of 5 years old, when it comes to nightwear my collection mostly consists of odd matching combinations of pyjama sets from years gone by. Without much time for thought, I have tended towards something comfortable for leaping out of bed six times a night. But then I was given the opportunity to review the Lindsey Bundles from Taylor’d Bundles which includes a “vintage style cotton nightdress and matching kimono”. My eyes brightened at the idea of wearing something feminine and stylish for a change! I couldn’t quite remember the last time I owned an actual nightdress but also couldn’t quite think of a reason why not.
Appearance and Feel
So my package arrives and upon opening I feel a warm glow that comes with being on the receiving end of something that has obviously taken someone much care and love in creating. The laundry bag containing the dress and gown has a pretty hand-stitched “T” in the corner, already hinting to the new owner the exquisite details to be uncovered within. And it certainly does not disappoint. The luxurious quality of the cotton and delicacy of the embroidery makes you so inclined to handle it lightly and gently. The white embroidered design on the nightdress of vines and leaves is beautiful in its detail and style. The kimono is embroidered all over, in a complimentary vine design, with short sleeves and a waist tie. The fabric for both is plentiful, lending to a feeling of overall luxury and grace.
Size and Fit
On the dress there are four pearl buttons on the corset area and delicate adjustable straps. The set comes in one size, with precise measurements on the website so you can be sure beforehand of its fit. I am a size 10 and 5’7” and with the straps fully tightened the full length nightdress fits comfortably under my arms and hangs down from under the bust to half way down my calf. This demonstrates the care that has gone in to shaping the nightdress so that a wide range of body shapes would fit equally well depending on just the adjustment of the straps.
The cotton fabric is so light and soft on the skin that you feel quite ‘floaty’, more feminine and, well, quite special! As that is what this nightwear is – special and why gifting this item is such a wonderful idea, as you are wrapping up that feeling for someone you want to know deserves it, including yourself!
And when put to the test I am obviously no less able to leap out of bed to attend the regular nightly calls from my waking trio than if I were wearing slouchy pants. It more so serves as a reminder not to neglect my own need for a bit of special care and attention now and again. And if I’m going to spend a portion of the night waking and falling back to sleep again, then why on earth not do it in luxury and style!?
My last thought is that this nightwear would make you rather want to go to bed early and dive in to an 19th century novel then to slump in front of the TV eating crisps. And wouldn’t we all be the better for it!?
