Hi, thank you for coming to my blog. My name is Tia and I have a daughter called Beth who is 3, I started Mummy Rated after I realised how much I had to say about the brilliant baby and toddler products I have purchased over the past couple of years. My view is that a product aimed at mums (and dads) should either make your baby’s life as comfortable and fun as possible or your life as a parent as simple and easy as possible. I am to provide honest and detailed product reviews for parents.
I remember the first time I went to look at pushchairs, strollers, travel systems or prams the lovely lady in the shop that was helping us said “it really depends how you want to use it” …. I think she knew when both myself and my husband looked at her blankly that she wasn’t going to get a sensible answer to that one! After that brief shopping experience I started looking on the internet at the many many many many options available and started reading reviews. My husband was bored after looking at 2 or 3 options and reviews and I hate to think how many hours I spent reading review after review.
Finally I had a few options and I thought I knew what I wanted, so now I wanted to see them … in the flesh. This was the tricky part – I realised that I could either travel an awfully long way to go to somewhere like Kiddicare or travel here there and everywhere to different shops viewing one pushchair at each shop! It felt like this was going to take a long time. In the end I went with a Britax Vigour travel system now called Britax B Smart mainly because of the reviews I’d read on the internet and because the Britax Baby Safe Plus SHR Car Seat had won safety awards and I didn’t want air-filled tyres.
When it came to purchasing a second pushchair … I don’t think I’ve met many mums that have purchased just one pushchair so I was expecting to buy another – it wasn’t much easier. This time however, I knew a lot more mums so could ask them about their experience, but I also found a lot more information on the internet. As I knew what I was looking for I knew what information I needed to know … how light was it, would my tall baby girl fit in it, how small does the raincover fold up to, etc. etc. Again, I couldn’t go and view all of the models I was interested in at the same shop and compare them side by side and this is when I decided I wanted to create a review blog that not only provided my opinion on the product but the important statistics that you don’t necessarily find on a manufacturer’s website i.e. seat to canopy height of a pushchair and detailed pictures and eventually videos so if you can’t get to see an item in the flesh you’ve been able to view as much of it as possible – virtually.
If you come across any reviews on my site that are still missing any vital information that’s important to you, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do my very best to find out for you.
I hope you enjoy your time on my blog and if you like these reviews, please share them with your friends and sign up to our newsletter to keep up to date with any new products I review here.
